JET – Jews for Ethnic Tolerance – is the young adult arm of Anti-Defamation in NSW.

A message from Adrienne Perch - President, B'nai B'rith Australia / New Zealand

Welcome to our web-site! It's designed to inform you about B'nai B'rith in Australia and New Zealand - what we are, what we do, and where we stand.

The world-wide B'nai B'rith organisation was founded in 1843, making it the world's oldest community service group. From the start and even more so today, the guiding principle of B'nai B'rith has been its inclusivity - bringing together people of the Jewish faith from all walks of life, without regard for background, level of religious belief or practice, social or economic circumstances.

B'nai B'rith International is the world governing body for B'nai B'rith and holds NGO consultative status at the United Nations in New York. In Australia and New Zealand, B'nai B'rith has an active presence in Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Wellington, with a support network in most other major capitals including Canberra.

Through its membership base and network of volunteer supporters, B'nai B'rith is involved in a wide range of activities in the areas of human rights and anti-discrimination, promoting inter-ethnic and inter-religious understanding, social justice, community welfare, youth and young adults, senior citizens' housing, education and health, and support for the State of Israel. Far from concerning ourselves only with the Jewish community, most of these projects reach out into the wider world for the benefit of all Australians and New Zealanders.

B'nai B'rith Australia / New Zealand - Vision Statement

B'nai B'rith Australia / New Zealand fulfils the international B'nai B'rith mission by contributing to Jewish continuity in Australia and New Zealand. This is specifically implemented through special local implementation of the B'nai B'rith watchwords of Benevolence, Fellowship and Harmony, so that tolerance and respect for differences continue as key features of the value systems of the communities in which Jewish people live.
