(Washington, D.C., May 26, 2008) - B’nai B’rith International (BBI) Executive Vice President Daniel S. Mariaschin received an honorary degree from his alma mater, the University of New Hampshire (UNH), on May 24, “for distinguished service protecting the rights of Jewish communities worldwide.”
Mariaschin, a 1971 graduate of UNH, received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters at this year’s commencement ceremonies.

On 25th May 2008 the B’nai B’rith Rhineland Lodge in Cologne celebrated the 120th anniversary of its foundation. On 27th May 1888 the Lodge was founded by 92 Jewish men, who felt committed to the B’nai B’rith values of charity, fraternity and unity. Both the foundation and the jubilee took place in the “Guerzenich”, the most traditional convention centre of the Cologne society, built in the 15th century and ever since the venue of important events in Cologne.

On Sunday 8th June 2008 members of the Hilleel Lodge walked through the old centre of Amsterdam, in search of the footprints of Rembrandt, the famous painter.
