Spirit of Jerusalem in the European Parliament
 
B'nai B'rith International and B'nai B'rith Europe in cooperation with the European Jewish Community Centre and with the office of Mrs. Andrikiene, Member of the European Parliament (MEP), organised a Jerusalem Day on May 31st in the European Parliament.

The event started with opening remarks by the organizers, the host MEP Laima Andrikiene and other MEP's who were present. Ralph Hofmann President of B'nai B'rith Europe and Mr. Ronen Gil-Or, Deputy Head of Israel's Mission to the EU emphasized in their speeches the role of Jerusalem both past and present.

This was followed by a beautiful rendition of "Yerushalaim Shel Zahav" by Danielle Bloj.

The event included the exhibition, "Spirit of Jerusalem" by the Israeli Photo-Artist Shai Ginot whose pictures conveyed the heartbeat of Jerusalem making guests feel a special connection to the city through their diversity and colours.

The Jerusalem Day celebration was a very special evening where guests in the European Parliament could feel the spirit of this golden city through art, culture and different religious traditions.
