The route of the Exodus and the division of the land among the Twelve Tribes are prominent.
The Holy Land extends from the Nile to Damascus and from the Arnon Valley to the Mediterranean Sea. Long considered the first map of the Holy Land to use Hebrew lettering exclusively.
From "The Amsterdam Hagadah" map by Abraham ben Yaakov, 17th Century. Published in Amsterdam in 1695.
The illustration on the right shows the story of Jonah and the whale. Above is Solomon's boat which carried the cedar trees for the construction of the Temple.
The woman on right symbolizes Africa. The eagle is the emblem of the Divine Power.

From the Eran Laor Cartographic Collection... The Jewish National & University Library, Jerusalem

Not original coloring.
This handmade paper is manufactured using age old techniques. Each map is printed individually.

When visitors started the visit, they could behold a small gallery of small maps dating back to the 17th century.

Near the maps, Shalom Marciano, an art dealer, had gathered together a few paintings

Asaf Lifshitz... Sculptor

The tradition of the artist is part and parcel of his very being. In spite of no formal training in the arts, artistry has been interwoven throughout his life. Asaf's statues grace the yards and gardens of Israel from Metulla in the north to Beer-Sheva in the south. Each statue has its contrasts and tensions within the contrast.

The figures in the statues are active and open the statues towards the landscape and the environment. The figures touch the observer, while they are involved in themselves. There is a palpable inner world about them as they are immersed in the still object that is part of the creation. This creates a complete and closed unit which the observer has become part of, within the figures there is an interaction between reality and fantasy. The figures appear very real but something within each of them disturbs the illusions. The integration with the landscape is created from the action of the figures in combination with the openness and spaces provided by the different proportions of the inanimate objects.

The Book Fair

At least a hundred of the most well-known writers were signing their books. People kept flowing in and out.

The lectures : Three well-known teachers talked about the persistent difficulty of teaching in France. A B’nai B’rith Sister from Nice suggested to take the Israeli law as an example: in order to teach you must get a national teaching permit. It means that you have been trained to teach, for a couple of years.
