The Raoul Wallenberg Lodge in Berlin was established in 1979.
Raoul Gustaf Wallenberg was born in 1912 in Stockholm, the son of a naval officer from one of the best-known Scandinavian families. When second secretary of the Swedish delegation in Budapest, Raoul Gustaf Wallenberg became a legendary figure, saving more than 100,000 Jews from Nazi brutality.
This all took place between 9th July 1944 and 17th January 1945, after which there is no trace of him, lost on the road to Debrecen. His disappearance remains a mystery to this day.
On 4th December 2004, the Lodge celebrated its 25th anniversary, the same day as the Hans Rosenthal Lodge was founded.
