Germany - The Rheinland Lodge in Köln PDF Print E-mail

The Rheinland Lodge in Köln was established in 1888, disbanded in 1937 and re-established in 1992.

When the Rheinland Lodge was established on 4th April 1888, it numbered around sixty members, led by its President, Doctor Benjamin Auerbach. By 1889, there were already 125 members, and 3 years later, the Lodge had its own premises in the Cäcilienstrasse. In 1913, 280 Brothers and Sisters were members of the Lodge.

The Lodge was closed down by the Gestapo in April 1937, but on 29th March 1992, 72 Brothers and Sisters breathed new life into the Rheinland Lodge.
