France - The Erets Itshak Rabin Logde in Créteil PDF Print E-mail

This Lodge was established on 12th October 1993 as Erets Lodge, unit 3368, and received its charter from District 19 on the same day. It was declared to the Préfecture of the Val de Marne as an official association on 28th October 1993. Its first meeting was on 9th June 1993 in Créteil with 43 initial members.

After Yitzhak Rabin's death, the Lodge was renamed Erets Itshak Rabin and moved to the Maisons-Alfort Community Centre.  The first President of the Lodge was Ethy Rubinowicz.

The Lodge focuses mainly on culture and politics, but also gets involved in solidarity. It also hosts a charity called Devoir de Mémoire, focusing on the Holocaust, and has had 4 plaques installed outside secular state schools, with the support of the Mairie of Maisons-Alfort.

The charity works alongside teachers to keep the memory of these children alive and to ensure anti-discrimination events and teaching become increasingly widespread.
