This Lodge was established by the Sisters Gilberte Misrahi and Jacqueline Israël in 1971, as Marseilles' first women's Lodge. It became mixed a few years later.
Since its creation, the Lodge has always tried to help the needy and handicapped children from the Bikur Cholim Hospital in Jerusalem by organising a prestigious evening every year until 1993. This event gave invaluable help to the Bikur Cholim Hospital in Jerusalem.
At the same time, the Harmonie Lodge has always helped the needy families in Israel.
During two years, the Lodge initiated the action « Opération Rayon de Soleil » under the aegis of Brother Elie Adevah. This operation offered holidays in Marseilles to young Israelis who came from families that had been victims of terrorist attacks.
Moreover, his action gave the opportunity to send 500 Israeli youngsters to outdoor centres in Israel.
In order to finance these actions, the Harmonie Lodge has organised important events which honoured B’nai B’rith.
The word "Harmony" is part of B’nai B’rith's motto, alongside "Benevolence" and "Brotherly Love". The name was suggested by the Mazel Tov Women's Lodge in Nice.
