France - The LeíHaim Lodge in Paris Print E-mail

The B’nai B’rith  Lodge, named Le’Haim "For life", was founded in March 2003 in Paris with a formal ceremony at the Centre Rambam.

David Kaminski is the founder and first Lodge President.

The Lodge was set up by former members of BBYO (BB Youth Organisation), and is a Lodge that was specially created for young working Jews between 25 and 35.

The founding principle of this Lodge was to harness the potential of young people who had been involved in BBYO, in particular its former leaders, in order to breathe new life into the B’nai B’rith vision and start to re-establish its values, from first principles.

The programme of activities combines traditional "closed meetings" for establishing the Lodge and its work, and high-profile open meetings, where politicians, artists and journalists are invited. The Le’Haim Lodge has already had more than 300 guests at its various activities.

It has invited politicians such as Dominique Strauss-Kahn and Pierre Lellouche, journalist Paul Nahon, professor in geopolitics Frédéric Encel, Ambassador Nissim Zvili or film director Elie Chouraqui.

The committee aims to increase core membership of the Lodge to 60 and to increase joint working with the Commission, launching 2 more Commissions in September:

1. Social and Humanitarian Commission, to support 2 charitable programmes for young Israelis.

2. Politics Commission to run and speak at a future event.
