This Lodge was established in 1991.

The Hebrew words "Or Ve Shalom" mean "Light and Peace".

The founding members of the Lodge chose this name, convinced that through the light of knowledge and understanding, the state of "Shalom", the peace and tranquillity that we all desire, can be reached.

Peace does not merely mean the absence of belligerence or aggression. It means much more than this – a predisposition to shalom, which Brothers and Sisters and B’nai B’rith should aspire to.
