France - The Eliezer Ben Yehouda Lodge in Saint-Maur-La Varenne PDF Print E-mail

Eliezer Ben Yehuda (1886-1922) is one of those who is principally responsible for making Hebrew the modern language of the Jews.

In 1877, he wrote, "The Jews cannot truly become a people unless they return to the land of their fathers and to the Hebrew language".
