Our Society has been functioning since 1937 and is a member of B’nai B’rith Europe.
Ever since it was established it has been offering an extensive and multilateral project for the benefit of the needy fellow Jews with the contribution of volunteer ladies of our community.
In the last ten years, after the revision of its Articles, Benoth B’rith “Judith” has been co-operating with other charity and non-charity organizations in the country and abroad, in order to assist in every way possible organizations which need support.
Some of these organizations are the Jewish School of Athens, the Jewish Museum of Athens, “Etz Chayyim” Synagogue of Hania (Crete), the “Smile of the Child”, the Home for the Aged of Athens, the Relief Committee of the Jewish Community of Athens, the Mess Allowance for the needy survivors of the Holocaust in Ukraine and others.
Benoth B’rith “Judith” believes that Jewish education in the early school years is necessary and a basic precondition for the development of the Jewish identity of every child in our community.
It supports all the activities of the Jewish school of Athens and grants scholarships, therefore making it possible for more children to make the best of the excellent education it offers as well as of its friendly environment.
