The Lodge was founded on 8th October 1999

Artur Carlos Barros Basto was a captain in the Portuguese army, sometimes called "The Portugese Dreyfus" or "The Apostle of the Marranos".

The Lodge is still in contact with his daughter, a member of the Porto Israeli Community.
