July 13, 2008 - Britain - Holocaust denier convicted of trying to incite race hate online - Simon Sheppard claims accounts of the Holocaust are "exaggerated" and describes Anne Frank's diary as "evil" has been convicted of putting articles on the internet that could stir up race hate.

A jury at Leeds Crown Court found Simon Sheppard, 51, guilty of nine counts of publishing racially inflammatory written material on his website between March 2005 and April 2006.

July 2, 2008 - United States - Vandals scrawl hate messages inside south Florida home - Fort Lauderdale police are conducting a hate crime investigation after a woman returned home after a weekend away and found offensive symbols and words spray-painted up and down her walls.

Words like "white bread" and an image of a swastika were sprayed on the inside of the home she rents in Fort Lauderdale .

July 1, 2008 - United States - Charges dropped against student in graffiti case - A judge has dismissed charges against a University of North Dakota student accused of writing a Jewish slur in ice cream on a dorm elevator.

Spencer Garness had been charged with disorderly conduct. Court records say prosecutors moved to dismiss the charges, citing a lack of evidence. Judge Sonja Clapp dismissed them.

Garness allegedly wrote "Scott is a Jew" in ice cream on a dorm elevator. Student Scott Lebovitz said he suffered anti-Semitic attacks and taunts over several months before moving out of the dorm in April 2008 .

July 21, 2008 - Russia - Antisemitic vandalism in Nizhny Novgorod - Vandals painted swastikas and Stars of David on 15 gravestones in Nizhny Novgorod cemetery. The vandals knocked over 10 gravestones and smashed an additional five. Police are investigating the incident.

July 20, 2008 - Saudi Arabia - What Saudi kids learn about Jews? - What follows are excerpts from textbooks used by Saudi children during the 2007-2008 school years.

July 18, 2008 - Russia - Vandals again target Jewish community in Ivanovo region - A few days after someone painted a swastika on the door of the Jewish community's leader apartment in Ivanovo , Russia, vandals daubed swastikas on a wall facing the Jewish community center in the nearby town of Kineshma . Swastikas left by a previous act of vandalism had just been painted over the day before.

July 18, 2008 - Ukraine - Neo-nazism on rise in Ukraine - Antisemitism is rising in Ukraine following a year of attacks on the Jewish community, according to an Amnesty International report released on 11 July 2008. Neo-Nazism is “on the march” in the country after authorities failed to challenge racism, often classifying violence as “hooliganism” by “skinheads”.

The report quotes figures from the Eurasian Jewish Congress which recorded 29 violent attacks against Jewish people and their properties in 2007.

A study by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology, which questioned more than 25,000 Ukrainians, revealed that only 20 per cent of people “were willing to have a Jewish person as a close family member or friend” in 2006, as compared to 38 per cent in 1994.

Tim Hancock, Amnesty International UK campaigns director, said: “Neo-Nazism and other violent racism is definitely on the march in Ukraine and attacks against Jewish people are a very worrying aspect of this. “Any country that can see a doubling of antisemitic views in a little over a decade has a serious problem on its hands.

July 16, 2008 - Russia - Swastika painted on door of Ivanovo Jewish leader - Someone painted a swastika on the door of the leader of the Ivanovo , Russia Jewish community. Ervin Kirshtein, whose door was vandalized, expressed doubt that local law enforcement agencies would solve the crime, telling that, "Such incidents are not interesting for the prosecutor's office."

July 15, 2008 - United States - Holocaust denier David Irving on U.S. speaking tour - Holocaust denier David Irving is on a U.S. speaking tour. Irving is slated to speak in more than a dozen U.S. cities in July, according to a page on the Web site IrvingBooks.com.

The site promises "many more" appearances throughout August. The site does not disclose the location of the talks, which are described as "private American functions," and says it reserves the right to refuse admission.

July 15, 2008 - Ukraine - Poltava holocaust memorial vandalized - Someone vandalized a memorial to thousands of victims of the Nazis, including 3,000 Jews, in Poltava .

"Versiya" newspaper reported in somewhat euphemistic language, that "a Ukrainian national symbol and insulting words directed against several ethnic groups" were painted on the monument, established on the site of the mass murder of 3,000 Jews on November 23, 1941 and 5,000 other victims over the course of the Nazi occupation of Ukraine. Police are investigating the incident.

July 14, 2008 - United States - Vandals draw swastikas on walls of Edison yeshiva - Two swastikas and a penis were scrawled on the walls inside the Rabbi Jacob Joseph Yeshiva in Edison, New Jersey .
A student at the Woodbridge Avenue School discovered the word "Jesus" written on the wall of a staircase, and then found a 2-foot by 2-foot swastika drawn in green marker on the wall.
A 2-foot by 3-foot image of male genitalia was drawn in black on a second-floor hallway, along with a second green swastika.

July 10, 2008 - United States - Antisemitic graffiti found at Palo Alto Jewish summer day camp - Police are investigating the burglary and vandalism of a summer day camp operated by the Albert L. Schultz Jewish Community Center over the holiday weekend, in Palo Alto, San Francisco .

Someone broke into the day camp offices, stealing several items and leaving behind Anti-Semitic graffiti Antisemitic graffiti that was written on a wall of the building and was quickly painted over.

July 10, 2008 - Slovenia - Dozens of the NK Maribor Slovenian soccer team arrived for the training game with Hapoel Tel Aviv - They stole the team signs from two fans that accompanied the Hapoel Tel Aviv team to their training camp and after that, took their photos holding the signs and saluting by raising their hands. Zlatko Zahovič, NK Maribor’s sports manager apologized for this incident.

“I would like apologize before the Hapoel Tel Aviv team and before the entire Jewish people. I was informed of the incident and the pictured that were published in Israel. I have Israeli friends and I respect them all. I do not approve that youngsters and drunks will hurt people who did not do them any harm. I ask the Hapoel Tel Aviv team to send me the photos of those people and I will make sure they will not be part of our team and I will involve the police on this matter. If the facts are true, then we will kick those 50 youngsters out of our team. I am outraged and fully aware of the Jewish people’s feelings on this matter. We will not tolerate this”.

July 9, 2008 - Germany - Antisemitic graffiti painted on Berlin's Holocaust memorial - Berlin police say a man has been arrested after spray-painting anti-Semitic graffiti on Berlin's Holocaust memorial.

A police statement says a security guard caught the intoxicated 28-year-old from eastern Germany as he was spray-painting four of the slabs that make up the vast memorial. The guard alerted police.

The statement says the man had sprayed "words and figures, some of them with anti-Semitic significance" on the slabs. It did not elaborate.

July 8, 2008 - Ukraine - Holocaust memorial vandalized in Lviv - A Holocaust memorial in Lviv was vandalized. The plaque at the Kleparov train station informs passersby that the Nazis shipped 500,000 Jews through the station to death camps in Poland during the war. A group of Jewish tourists noticed that someone had painted a hangman and a Star of David on the plaque.

July 7, 2008 - United States - Palmdale houses vandalized - White Power, the swastika, and offensive words against Jews, African-Americans and police, all of it painted on the outside of two vacant houses on two Palmdale , California. Authorities say whoever did it must have been motivated by hate.
Police are investigating the vandalism as a hate crime.

Plaques and photographs of several graves were stolen at the Jewish cemetery La Tablada, in the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

July 6, 2008 - Iran - Anti - Semitic “documentary” series aired on TV - In the past two months, an anti - Semitic documentary series called the “Armageddon Secret” is broadcast in Iran featuring “Iranian Scholars” presenting the classic anti – Semitic thesis according to which the Jews are striving to reach global destruction through the War of Gog and Magog, all with the purpose to rule and control the world. The MEMRI TV site broadcasts the relevant parts of the series.

An Iranian university professor, Ali-Reza Karimi, indicates that Israel’s goal is to “take over the world and hold its central position” is based on the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and therefore, “the Jews inspire to rule the world. They encourage destruction and ruin, and we can witness such actions around us”.

Karamini says that the Jews not only believe in the promise to rule from the Nile to the Euphrates, but also that “God gave them the entire world”. Iran is usually proud of its positive approach to its Jews, however, the narrator in the series present the Jews in Iran in a different light. “The political and economic power the Jewish oligarchy enjoys has played a major roll in the history of Iran and the entire world”.

Karimi adds and says that “the entire world is aware that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion include plans and policies of the Elders of Zion to conquer the world and establish a global Jewish government, as things were discussed during the Jewish Congress in Basel in 1897”.

The narrator continued with this line saying that “these plans, which disclose the Zionists’ ideas and plans, were collected and gathered in 24 protocols. They deal with political, educational, social, economic and legal strategies that were planned to be implemented after they destroyed the economy, the civilization and religion of other nations. These strategies were intended to be realized through conspiracies that would lead to the establishment of a global Jewish government.

Another researcher, Shams Al-Din Rahmani, determines that the Zionists’ intention was to “totally destroy the Islam. They certainly know it will not be easy and therefore they want try Americanize the Islamic religion”.

Another researcher, Sayyid Hashem Mir-Louhi, says that the Russians attacked a Jewish gathering and laid their hands on this book, which was translated into many languages. Mir-Louhi says also that “the book appeared recently translated into Persian”. “There are Jids who deny the book and claim it is not theirs, but after examining the modus operandi of those Jids, you understand that it fits all that is said in the Protocols”.

The scholars also mentioned that the Rothschild family acted as part of a secret political cult which
“over hundreds of years distributed a secret network throughout the world”. The “Iranian scholars” say that the Rothschild family was the one who “implanted in the minds of the Jewish wealthy the idea that Palestine is the Promised Land ”. They claim that the majority of Jews did not have a specific country they preferred moving to. “Many considered America or South Africa as their Promised Land”.

However, they claim that the Rothschild family’s political power enabled the realization of this conspiracy. “The British government, controlled by the Zionist empire headed by the Rothschild family, was committed to realize the Zionist goal”. These anti – Semitic claims and clear and thin lies as delineated in the “documentary series” are recurrent.

July 4, 2008 - Ukraine - Lawmaker calls for purging Jews - Oleg Tyagnybok, a former member of President Viktor Yushchenko's parliament faction Our Ukraine, in a speech called for "merciless" action against Jews and Russians who have seized power in Ukraine.

Tyagnybok heads the Nationalistic Freedom Party, which holds several seats in the Lvov regional parliament.

Tyagnybok habitually labels Jews and Russians with the pejorative terms "kikes" and "moskali."
In a speech, Tyagnybok reportedly lashed out at Yushchenko by claiming that his surrogates are beginning to use the words such as "kike" and "moskali" in their speeches - words that four years ago got him expelled from the president's parliament faction.

"So now it's OK to use those words?" Tyagnybok asked. "But it's too late now! The kikes and moskali and their minions have seized power, and without a tough, merciless purge, there is nothing we can do about it."
