This event was attended by over 600 people, among  them H.E. Mrs. Tamar Samash, Israeli Ambassador to Belgium, Mr. Glashouwer, International President of the Christians for Israel, Dr. Nigist Mengesha, Director in Israel of the Ethiopian project, Mr. Aron Lev and Mr. Jack Spijer from Keren Hayesod and members of both the Federal and local Belgian governments.

Opened by René Trau, President of the Mala Zimetbaum Lodge, speeches were delivered by H.E. Tamar Samash, Mrs. Nigist Mengesha and Mr. Glashouwer.

Mrs. Mengesha spoke of her personal experiences as an Ethiopian in Israel and emphasised that today many Ethiopians have the possibility to attend Universities. She also stressed the importance of the role of Keren Hayesod and their support of Jews originating from Ethiopia.
