Spain - The Nahmanides Lodge in Barcelona PDF Print E-mail

General Franco died on 20th November 1975.

On 3rd March 1976, our Articles of Association were filed for approval with the "Government Ministry External Policy General Directorate, Associations Department" (Ministry of the Interior).

After examining the application, this department "acknowledged the legality and legitimate purpose of the association referred to as B'nai B'rith". The Articles of Association were approved in 1978.

The "Maimonides" section received its Charter on 5th August 1977 under number 5103 and the "Nahmanides" section (Catalan branch) on 23rd April 1979 under number 5144.

The President of District 19 who signed the Charter was Fr. Joseph Domberger. The Lodge founder, Boris Zeldis, a friend of President Domberger and himself Father of a Lodge in Chile for many years, was the driving force who contacted Fr. Max Mazin, who in turn used his contacts to ensure that the aforementioned approval was granted.
