Between the 6th and 7th of December, B’nai B’rith Europe attended the EU Commission Working Group on the implementation of the EU strategy on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life that took place in Hague, the Netherlands. This meeting was organized by the Dutch National Coordinator on Combating Antisemitism and hosted by the Netherlands Ministry of Justice and Security.
Among issues discussed at the Working Group were the state of play of the development of national strategies and national plans on combating antisemitism, the need to combat online antisemitism and the tools needed to foster Jewish life in Europe.
Executive Director, Hanna Kalmenson, represented B’nai B’rith Europe at the meeting which brought together representatives of national Jewish communities, international and civil society organizations, national ministries and high-level officers of the European Institutions. Among the speakers were Vice-President of the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas, European Commission Coordinator on Combating Antisemitism and Fostering Jewish Life, Katherina von Schnurbein and Dutch Minister of Justice and Security, Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius.
