B’nai B’rith Bulgaria, member of B’nai B’rith Europe is seriously concerned about the fact that the exhibition “The Country of the Rescued Jews” continues to tour in different cities and towns in Bulgaria.

This exhibition, funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, has a clear revisionist character and is an insult to the memory of the victims of the Holocaust.

B’nai B’rith Bulgaria strongly protests against the participation of senior government officials in the dissemination of revisionist propaganda, an act endangering the future admission of Bulgaria as a full member of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.

“These activities are not just a dissemination of revisionist propaganda, but events which are actively planned by some leaders of the ruling coalition government.” said Solomon Bali, Vice President of B’nai B’rith Europe. ‘The same people have been preaching anti-Semitism and xenophobia for years. All these revisionist efforts work against the authority of Bulgaria and against the truth about the Holocaust in our country, which is well known from the historical documents kept in the archives of Bulgaria, the State of Israel, the European countries, as well as in the archives of the United States of America”.

Serge Dahan, President of B’nai B’rith Europe recalls we cannot rewrite history nor hide the truth. Serge Dahan supports the protest of B’nai B’rith Bulgaria and requests the Bulgarian government to take necessary measures to preserve the memory of the holocaust  and its teachings for future generations.
