The Jewish Cemetery of Herrlisheim in the Lower Rhine in France, a small town next to Strasbourg, was desecrated on the night of Monday, December 10 to Tuesday, December 11 2018. Thirty seven stelae were desecrated as well as the Shoah Martyrs Monument.

The Israelite consistory of the Lower Rhine expressed its strongest and its deepest indignation.

B’nai B’rith Europe calls on the French Government that everything be done so to ensure the perpetrators are apprehended as soon as possible and sentenced proportionally to their acts.

More than ever, mobilization and vigilance must be increased to the level of this hatred against Jews throughout Europe and against the values of democracy.

The President of B’nai B’rith Europe, Serge Dahan, is outraged and condemns with anger and emotion this evil act and this insult to memory. He addresses the inflicted families, who gather on the graves of their parents and friends of the Jewish Cemetery in Herrlisheim, his fraternal thoughts and its support.
