Young Adult Commission

Since earlier this year the Commission has been heavily engaged with the organisation of the 6th BBE Young Jewish Adult Forum which will be held from 16th-18th November 2012 in London and hosted by B'nai B'rith United Kingdom.

The Commission arranged the formation of the Organising Committee made up of the following members:

- Adrian  (UK),
- Valerie (Belgium),
- Simon  (Austria),
- Raoul (Switzerland),
- Simone (Germany),
- John (UK) and,
- Nathalie.
 

Recently we have been very pleased to welcome Edwige from France with wide experience in our Organisation as a full member of the Young Adult Commission.

Following extensive searches the centrally located Hampstead Britannia Hotel was found as a suitable venue for our Forum where Zeitlin & Co will be catering throughout the week-end.

The Theme of the Forum is: "Disobedience-creative driving force of the Jewish enterprise"

Jean Etherton, President of BBUK and Ralph Hofmann President of BBE will greet and welcome the participants.

On Friday evening the delegates will attend Kabbalat Shabbat Service at the nearby South Hampstead Synagogue which is a most vibrant community full with young adults and led by a charismatic rabbi.

Valerie Achache of Brussels and Simon Weinstein of Vienna two young adults, members of their local BB lodge will act as Co-Chairs of the orum.

During Shabbat Lunch Dan Mariaschin, Executive Vice-President of B'nai B'rith International will address the participants.

Distinguished guest speakers on the panel will discuss the Theme of the Forum with an inter-active debate with the delegates.

The other workshop will exclusively deal with B'nai B'rith-its activities and projects locally, in Europe and worldwide.

Raoul Beck of Geneva, President Ralph Hofmann and Sylvia Lewin, Hon. President of BBUK will make their presentations followed by a debate.

Gala Dinner on Saturday night will be accompanied with live music and dancing.

An exciting City of London Tour has been arranged for Sunday morning with the assistance of Rachel Kolsky-a professional Blue Badge Guide and co-author of a recently published comprehensive Guide book entitled "Jewish London".

An optional guided tour of the Jewish Museum is also being planned.

The necessary preliminary negotiations have also been conducted with the CST (Community Security Trust-in the UK) to arrange stringent security provisions for the participants during the Forum.

The Young Adult Commission is urging members of the BBE Executive, Presidents of Lodges, and the Membership of B'nai B'rith Europe to assist in the promotion of the Forum and in particular securing Donations.

The Commission wishes to thank those members of the Organising Committee who have shown commitment and dedication in assisting the preparation and progress of the 6th BBE Young Jewish Adult Forum.
