The United Nations Prizes in the field of Human Rights aim to “honor and commend people and organizations which have made an outstanding contribution to the promotion and protection of the human rights embodied in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and in other United Nations human rights instruments”.
Inspired by it, the B’nai B’rith Human Rights Prize honors personalities from civil society who possess the essential qualities of tolerance and humanism and who work through their personal commitment to the defense of the fundamental values of dialogue and peace, thus contributing to bringing communities closer together.
There are two B’nai B’rith Human Rights Prizes, one of B’nai B’rith Europe and one of B’nai B’rith France.
