A seven-member solidarity mission consisting of members of the newly-elected Executive Committee of B’nai B’rith Europe visited Israel on July 22nd to the 24th 2014, to be briefed by government officials on the conflict , learn firsthand about the realities faced by Israelis during the current conflict and to convey from the organization a message of unity with the people of Israel.

Among other things, the mission met with government ministers, representatives of the Prime Minister’s office, National Security Council, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and leading academics. On Wednesday, the group traveled to the South for meetings with local leaders and residents in the cities of Ashkelon and Sderot, and in the Merhavim and Hof Ashkelon regional councils and visited an Iron Dome battery.

The mission program was arranged by the B’nai B’rith World Center in Jerusalem, B’nai B’rith permanent presence in Jerusalem and the public affairs arm in Israel.
